This post deserved to come online way back and I take total responsibility for keeping it waiting for this long.
Some things.. you want to make it sound perfect. Do justice to the feelings, through your words. So, I tried ..and kept trying. Then, it looked like, the post would never make it here if I tried longer. So, here are my words on the Virtual BabyShower Story..not perfect, but heartfelt.
Look at the Lovely little Cutie pies in the picture below –
Know what is common among all of them, other than the adorable chubby cheeks? All here are the current generation of lively, young and spirited blogger ladies of today. 🙂
And, if at all there is anyone who is curious to know what brings them all in the picture together? They are the wonderful virtual sisters of mine…or let us say aunts to my baby-to-be, who made this tired and heavy pregnant soul SO HAPPY that she broke into tears of joy one day.
It was Jan 4 and I came to work as usual. Found a curiously inviting line as a comment on my previous post which said “Got something for you on the blog babe. Come, get it!!!” and I clicked on her blog link.
Starting from there, what followed was this thrilling journeyof blog hopping, instructed by poetic little clues and puzzles. I was left amazed, to say the least. Amazed that so many of blogger girls were involved. Amazed that I was completely oblivious to any of these or the planning all along!
To be honest,I did not take an extra minute to stop and admire the witty usage of words and the creativity involved in forming the puzzles on each site. Though, I did that later in liesure, the clue hunt was way too exciting at that moment. 😀
Some answers were easy guesses, some were tad tough, but some others were so mind wracking difficult ( at least for me!),that there was much frowning and head scratching, literally. The one girl who was part of it all and was constantly online with me, on chat, was far from being helpful (Hmmph). Who knew she was a secret spy trasmitting live status updates of my poor ‘hunting’ skills to the rest of the gang 😉
Almost getting there, being misled by trouble makers, tracing path back and forth like a headless chicken – all happened. 😀
Finally, all is well that ends well. But, all is FANTAFABULOUS! if it ends with something like THIS.
Totally surprised and feeling utterly humbled,I read through the pages..savoring each word, every picture and often rubbing off the brimming water in the eyes ..to let me read more.
There is nothing I can compare the feeling to. Really.
“Thank You” will not suffice, but I do want every one of the 16 of you , from the 6 different countries, to know that – You have no idea what a brilliant gift you have given us. For one,t he thought of so many sweet souls ( not one that I know in person!) getting together for this purpose, will bring me the happiest smile, every single time. 🙂
You gave me one of those precious memories to cherish all the way.. hoping to narrate to my grandkid ( if at all) with pride one day!
On a side note, the little one is growing bigger by the day. My stomach looks like a giant cantaloupe ready to burst. 😛
I waddle like a sedated penguin who stops every 15 steps to take an extra breath to carry the extra weight 😀
Not all is bad though. Random comments from various people offers much entertainment at this stage. Samples below:
- “Eighth month?? Oh, you don’t look that big at all!”
( Very nice try. God bless you lady 😀 )
- “First one? Hehe. You will get used to it by your second or third”
( Hehe.Okay.Now, please eff off)
- “Do you want water? No? Do you want juice? No? Do you want water? No? Do you..?
( First, I need absolutely no fluids of any kind.No water too, no. Second, we are standing in the wash area of the restroom for Gods sake. Let me go use the loo please?)
- “My cousin had a 26 hour labor.Suffered much.See, that is exactly why we should never have kids.”
( Hmm. Okay, now what is your point again..telling such a thing looking straight into my eye, smart lady?)
- “You know, you should not do anything that you are NOT good at when you are pregnant. Then, your baby will really suck at it big time! Hahahaha!”
( Can you move away from me wierd man? Your low IQ PJs are bothering my unborn child.)
Who said being pregnant is not all fun? 😛
If that isn’t enough, here is a picture to prove, from last weekend. The Office Winter Gala party had some amazing music and a happening dance floor. My colleagues, freinds and the hubby tried hard to stop me..but is there a rule banning women with gigantic stomachs from dancing in parties ? 😉
Heard this more than once that evening – “Oh, slow down.We don’t want the baby coming today!”
Of course, s/he didn’t come …..s/he was way too busy inside, swaying with mamma 🙂
As of today, my countdown calendar says ” 36 days to go ”
Excited, nervous, scared ..and anxious.
Please keep us in your good thoughts.
Take care 🙂
